Dr. Mark graduated Cum Laude from Santa Clara University in California with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Combined Sciences before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA). He completed a residency in General Dentistry at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, and continued his education at the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF). At UCSF, he completed his residency in pediatric dentistry and received his specialty certificate while serving as Chief Resident of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, he earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Oral Biology before returning to Honolulu to enter private practice.
Dr. Mark was awarded the California Society of Dentistry for Children, Eric B. Bystrom D.D.S. Memorial Pediatric Dentistry Award for Excellence in the Treatment of Special Needs Patients. In addition, he is also a past President of the Honolulu County Dental Society.
Dr. Mark has made numerous television appearances on the KHON Morning News "Ask the Expert" segment and has appeared on camera and as the dental consultant to "Building Blocks for Tots", a local television program developed for parents and young children.
Dr. Mark is a volunteer faculty in pediatric dentistry at The Queen's Medical Center's General Practice Residency program. In addition, he is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at the UCSF Dental School.
